From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ratsy offers this and a 15 more pics for download as a zip file, and it is used for self-promotion online and such by other sites. Legally, it's ok, though I know that doesn't mean it's ok for Wikipedia. However, I have contacted Ratsy for permisson and it should be here shortly, since I know she doesn't object to the image being used. -Thespian 07:22, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Make sure she understands it has to be licensed under the terms of the GFDL (and all that entails: commercial reuse and derivatives are okay, as long as all reuse and derivatives are also licensed under the GFDL). She needs to e-mail permission to use under GFDL termsm, mentioning the full URL of this image (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ratsy.png) to permissions@wikimedia.org. I'll change it from "replaceable fair use" to "no license" to give 7 days grace period. —Angr 11:35, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- Can she license it under Creative Commons? It is, frankly, a lot easier to explain in this context. The GFDL is a poor choice for images and music, since it's a software and manuals (text) license. --Thespian 21:14, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
