[edit] Image Tagging Image:Rick barnes.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Rick barnes.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey 04:03, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Assume good faith
Hey - I suggest you do two things. First is to assume good faith - it's an important part of wikipedia. Instead of assuming that someone is vandalizing they might just be trying to make wikipedia better and have a different opinion of 'better' - they probably aren't ignorant either. The other thing is I suggest you sign your comments with --~~~~ so that people know you wrote things. Cheers! --Matt 02:55, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps you'd care to explain why you changed the edits to the "Cruz Bustamante" entry?
What was wrong with-
"In 2001, Bustamante was speaking before a group of approximately 400 black labor activists when he used the word "nigger" to refer to African Americans whilst reading from a list of black labor groups that came into existence during the last century.[4] Bustamante apologized to his stunned audience and later offered the following explanation:
"If you heard what I think I heard, I want you to know it wasn't me. It's not the way I was raised, it's not the way I was taught, it's not the way I raised my children and it's not what's in my heart."
Despite Mr. Bustamante's mea culpa, there remained (and do remain) questions of whether or not Mr. Bustamante harbors racist sentiments.[5][6]
“You don’t make a slip like that,” said audience member Gwendalyn Bello, “unless it is something you say normally.”[7]
“What was troublesome to a lot of people,” said San Francisco labor organizer and state president of the A. Phillip Randolph Institute James Bryant, “was that the word came out very naturally.”[8]
It contained full citations, was fair (contained both Bustamante's explanation and apology, as well as independent criticism) and did not include original research. I suggest you voluntarily change it back or I will and I'll get protection for the entry.
Thank you.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Heinzlogo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Heinzlogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 22:51, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Andrewcarnegie.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Andrewcarnegie.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:53, 22 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly hi! 06:53, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
