Rasol
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rasol is a Romanian dish made from meat, potatoes, and several other vegetables, boiled together. The meat can be both from a bird (usually a chicken, but also duck, goose or turkey; all are traditionally domesticated in Romania) or may be pork or beef. For bird meat, usually a whole chicken is used, cut into pieces; for the other case, the leg is usually used for this dish (that part of the pig's leg is actually called rasol, usually using the plural rasoale). Potatoes (peeled) and carrots, tomatoes and onions are boiled whole together with the meat. It is usually served together with some of the resulting soup, and with mujdei or horseradish.
