Rashidan District is a new district in Afghanistan; it was created from the larger Jaghatu district.

The capital appears to be Rashidan, a new township near by Hussain Khel and Qulgina.

29,000 people are living in the villages of the district. 96% of them are Pashtun and 4% Hazara.

[edit] Water shortage

The continuing drought is the main problem of the district. The lack of water make people leave their villages and go to other districts or abroad.

[edit] Trade and commerce

Many are actively employed in the lucrative trade and commerce of goods across the border in neighboring Pakistan.
