The memorial Point Alpha is located at the border of Hesse and Thuringia. For 40 years an observation post of the US army was here. Today, two associations strive to keep the East German wall and the American observation post as a memorial. This shall remind people of the division of Germany and the confrontation of NATO and Warsaw Pact.
