The object in the photo is a cheap, trivial, mass-produced ashtray of unknown origin which was purchased at a jumble sale in Vienna, Austria in the early 2000s. The image can be found in the article on "kitsch" to illustrate what kitsch is. A picture says more than a thousand words.
