The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo is a 2008 documentary film directed by Lisa F. Jackson. The film tells of the treatment of women in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Lisa F. Jackson shows the raping of women of all ages. It also explains a common condition among rape survivors in the DRC where the walls separating the uterus, bowels and bladder are ripped to shreds because of the use of foreign objects.
The film competed in the Documentary Competition at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.[1] The film was awarded the Special Jury Prize Documentary award at Sundance. [2]
