Rapped In Romance is the final album from the World Class Wreckin' Cru released under the Epic record label in 1986. Cli-N-Tel left the group during the fall of 1985 which led to Lonzo recruiting Shakespeare to join the group.

Ice Cube a member of the C.I.A around this period who was friends with Dr. Dre co-wrote one of the songs on the album together called Cabbage Patch. Dre would return the favour to Ice Cube in producing the C.I.A album My Posse and together performed dirty raps together on the underground club scene which helped to get them the attention of Eazy-E.

After this album Dr Dre and Yella would leave the group seeking other opporunities in the form of Eazy E luring them onto his record label Ruthless Records leading to the formation of gangsta rap group N.W.A. While Lonzo Williams would form a new Wreckin Cru and enjoyed some moderate mainstream success with the song Turn Off The Lights.

Both of the album covers of World Class and Rapped In Romance were used as a parodies for the Dre-diss song Cowards Of Compton performed by 2 Live Crew's hype man Luther Campbell back in 1993 at the time Luke had a brief feud with Dre and Death Row Records and it was a direct response to Fuck Wit Dre Day in which he was ridiculed by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre.
