Rao Bahadur P. I. Chinnaswamy Pillai

Rao Bahadur P. I. Chinnaswamy Pillai was the first Municipal Chairman of Palakkad, Kerala, India.

The title Rao Bahadur was conferred by the British for his contributions to Palghat Municipality's local administration.

Tamil Scholar Dr. U. V. Swaminatha Iyer has made special mention of Rao Bahadur Chinnaswamy Pillai's name in his autobiography, En Sarithiram, serialised in the Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan, from January 1940 to May 1942. It was later published as a book in 1950.

Dr. Swaminatha Iyer has mentioned that Rao Bahadur Chinnaswamy Pillai has sent him many letters encouraging him in his research on Tamil Literature.

The Sri Krishna Temple at Kunnathurmedu, Palakkad was constructed and the deity consecrated by the first Municipal Chairman of Palakkad Municipal Council, Rao Bahadur Chinnaswamy Pillai, about a 100 years ago.
