WikiProject Oregon invitation

You are invited to join WikiProject Oregon, a WikiProject dedicated to improving articles related to the U.S. state of Oregon. You received this invitation because of your interest in Oregon and/or your edits to Oregon articles. If you would like to join, please visit the project page, and add your name to the list of participants.

Nice work on the Oregon articles! If you join the project, add an intro at our new intro page: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Oregon/Introductions, if you'd like, and check out the current discussions on the project talk page. There's always room for more history buffs! You'll see we've got a pretty good collection of articles on what some of us like to call Old Dead Guys that can always be expanded. :) Katr67 (talk) 04:01, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

I'd like to second Katr's welcome, and invitation! Looks like you've done a lot of good work, thanks!! -Pete (talk) 04:40, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] External links

Hi again. I see you've been adding some external links, some of them to an article of yours. I haven't looked at these closely, and I know you're doing this in in good faith, but be careful about external links, especially if there is conflict of interest. Per WP:EL, links should be specific to the article, and even if they are interesting, they should be closely related to the article to which they are added. The best approach is to instead use the link to add facts to the article and cite it as a source. I wouldn't worry too much, but I thought I would give you a heads up since sometimes adding COI links can be seen as spamming, which I'm sure isn't your intention. Take care, Katr67 (talk) 21:52, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Eugene Pioneer Cemetery sign 2007.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Eugene Pioneer Cemetery sign 2007.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Eugene Pioneer Cemetery

Nice work! I just fixed it up, see what you think. If you look in the refs section in edit mode, you will see the inline refs that I have formatted for you:

<ref name=Otilla>{{cite book |author=Lay, Otilla |title=Pioneer Cemetery |publisher=Oregon Genealogical Society |location=Eugene, Oregon |date=2000}}</ref>
<ref name=Otilla/>
<ref name=Spirit>''Spirit of the Pioneer'' newsletter of the Eugene Pioneer Cemetery Association, Spring 2000.</ref>
<ref name=Spirit/>

Just paste the full citation the first time you cite the book, and the shorter citation each subsequent time. For example: Blahblahblahblah.<ref name=Otilla>{{cite book |author=Lay, Otilla |title=Pioneer Cemetery |publisher=Oregon Genealogical Society |location=Eugene, Oregon |date=2000}}</ref> Furthermore, blahblahblah.<ref name=Otilla/>

Which will look like this:

For example: Blahblahblahblah.[1] Furthermore, blahblahblah.[1]

[edit] References

  1. ^ a b Lay, Otilla (2000). Pioneer Cemetery. Eugene, Oregon: Oregon Genealogical Society.

I hope that's not too confusing. Let me know if you need further help. Katr67 (talk) 02:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Photos

Randy, thanks for inviting me to work on your photos…I'm not sure my skills are up to the task! Most of what I do is fix poorly-done scans of old photos, stuff off a digital camera is kind of a different animal, and I don't know too much about it. I could fiddle, but it looks like a challenge, because it's sort of washed out on one side, but good contrast on the other. I'll mess around, but can't promise much… -Pete (talk) 07:13, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi Randy, this is Pete's mom. I played around with your photo of the GAR plot, I think I've improved it some, but I'm not sure. However I don't know how to send it to you to look at. If you (or Peter) can tell me, I'll do it.
On second thought - I'll send it to Pete, he'll know what to do with it from there! -- Martha (talk) 22:35, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
