- Neutrality of the article a problem.
quote - Although it's reputation is prestigous, it fails to live up to that repuation and since the Labour government of 1999-2002 changed the zoning laws the pass rates have started to fall to such a point where it is now in the bottom echelon of North Shore schools well behind traditional rivals Long Bay College and Westlake Boys High School. rewrite required to conform article with wikipedia neutrality standards 202.36.134.14 06:00, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

- Edited it now. I think it's better. - Greaser 00:07, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
- The school is no where near as good as it makes out to be. It looks as if the staff have logged on and given the article a pro-spin! --Pppzor 06:52, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Avoid peacock terms
I'm going through the NZ School wikipedia pages adding infoboxes, and this page is one of the worst I have seen so far for vague and unsupported claims.
- Rangi zone -- the web site is a good link, but it is very hard to justify the claim that this school has very much to do with the rise in house prices in Auckland over the last few years. AFAIK house prices all over AKL have gone up and up and up, and the rise in property values since the 1960's is more attributable to the Harbour Bridge than to anything else.
- Rangi's academic record. The edit is better than before, but now it reads a bit like an apologia. Notice that in 2004 the ERO produced a Supplementary Review (Secondary) on Rangi.
"A Supplementary Review is undertaken at the discretion of an Area Manager in the Education Review Office (ERO).
A supplementary review evaluates the extent and effectiveness of actions a school has taken towards addressing issues specified in a previous education review and/or any additional areas identified since that review."
In other words, the ERO identified problems with the school which needed to be dealt with outside the usual review process. As far as I can tell from reading the ERO report these are mostly to do with management, but at least one ("the extent to which the school identifies groups of students who are not achieving and the extent to which it has developed strategies to address their achievement ") to do with academic achievement of students.
I'll try to work a reference in to this that is POV free.
- the timetable info is probably not of much relevance to anyone outside the school.
[edit] Rangi Zone
What was the status of the Rangi Zone pre-2003? The term was in use well before then, but may have described a larger area than the current zone. How did Rangi select students? Neil Leslie 08:04, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Rangitotocollege.gif
Image:Rangitotocollege.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
