Ranni

Ranni is a Taluk in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerela, in India, approximately 66 kilometres from the pilgrimage centre Sabarimala. The Taluk Headquarters is a small township on both sides of the Pamba River. Ranni is the largest Rubber producing Taluk in Kerala, The famous Hindu temple of Sabarimala is in this Taluk

The economy of Ranni is primarily agricultural economy, the main crops being rubber, cocoa, coconut and pepper. The township is centered around a bus stand and a market. The town's commercial area includes jewelery stores, grocery stores, bakery stores, clothes stores and other businesses.The latest news of Ranni is available on link News

The Main Eastern Highway ( Punalur-Pathanamthitta-Muvattupuzha Road / SH - 08 ) connects the town to other major towns.

The main two political parties in Ranni are the Congress party and the CPM or CPI.

Hindus, Muslims and Christians live in peace here. This is one of the few places where no communal riots happened even when there were a lot of issues all over India.
