Formed in 1873, Rangers were the first club in the world to win more than 50 league titles, they now hold the world record for number of domestic league championships won after racking up 51 titles.[1] Rangers also hold the record for domestic trebles,[2] with seven so far. They won their 100th major trophy in 2000, the first club in the world to reach that milestone.[3] They are now the most-honoured football club in the world, having won 109 trophies in total.

They have played in both the Scotland and England's national cup competitions. Rangers reached the semi-final of the 1886-87 FA Cup only to be knocked out by eventual winners Aston Villa.
