Randy Raine-Reusch

Randy Raine-Reusch is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist and composer specializing in wind and string instruments from around the world, particularly those from East and Southeast Asia. He has studied many of these instruments with master musicians in the nations in which they are used.

Instruments on which Raine-Reusch is proficient include the Chinese guzheng, the Japanese shō and ichigenkin, the Korean kayagum, the Australian didjeridu, and the Appalachian dulcimer.

Raine-Reusch has recorded with Pauline Oliveros, Aerosmith, The Cranberries, Yes, and Raffi, as well with as his own intercultural quartet, ASZA. He also performs as a duo with his wife, the Chinese guzheng virtuoso and scholar Mei Han.

He currently serves as Director of Acquisitions for the Musical Instrument Museum, which is scheduled to open in 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona.
