Randall M. "Randy" Hultgren is a Republican member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 48th district since 2007. The 48th Senate District includes parts of DuPage, Kane, and Will counties and all or part of Batavia, Geneva, Naperville, North Aurora, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton, and Winfield. Hultgren serves as the Republican Spokesperson on the Senate Labor Committee. He also serves as a member on the Environment & Energy, Judiciary-Civil Law, Commerce & Economic Development, Housing & Community Affairs committees. Additionally, Hultgren serves on the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

Hultgren graduated from Bethel College in 1988, Magna Cum Laude; doctorate degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1993; Republican Precinct Committeeman for Milton Township Princinct #20; Member of DuPage County Board; Board of Directors for the DuPage Homeownership Center.

Hultgren was first elected to the DuPage County Board in 1994, to represent the 4th district. In 1998 he was elected State Representative of the 95th District, and was reelected in 2000, 2002, and 2004, Hultgren was succeeded by Mike Fortner.

Hultgren was elected in 2006 to the Illinois State Senate in the 48th district, succeeding Peter Roskam who was elected to the United States Congress.

Hultgren currently resides in Winfield, IL with his wife and four children.
