Randall Bewley

Randall "Randy" Bewley is the guitarist for the Athens, Georgia band Pylon (band). He was born in Sarasota, Florida and attended the University of Georgia art school where he met Michael Lachowski a fellow art student. They became roommates and decided to form a band, go to New York City, get written up in New York Rocker and then break up. He and Michael along with fellow art students Vanessa Briscoe Hay and Curtis Crowe formed the band Pylon (band). Instead of being written up by New York Rocker on their first trip to NYC, they got written up in Interview Magazine.

Randy is a very influential guitarist and has used the guitar to create not just notes, but interesting sounds as well. Pylon (band) recorded 3 albums, 3 singles and one ep. Pylon (band) have opened for U2,R.E.M. (band), the B-52's, the Talking Heads and the Gang of Four (band). Pylon have broken up twice and currently back together playing occasional shows for fun. Their first album Gyrate is to be re-issued in October 2007 on DFA records and a tour is planned. Randy is married and has two sons, Blair and Adam. Randy was an art teacher for a while, but is devoting more time to his music and art. He also plays guitar with two other Athens, GA projects: The New Sound of Numbers and Supercluster (band).
