Rana chalconota is a species of frog in the Ranidae family. It is endemic to Indonesia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, rivers, intermittent rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, plantations , rural gardens, irrigated land, and seasonally flooded agricultural land.
Formerly used for what is today named Rana raniceps. In the 1990s, it became generally agreed that Rana raniceps applied to specimens in northern and western Sumatra, Peninsula Malaysia and Borneo. Rana chalconota's range is limited to Southern Sumatra, Java and Bali
