The Rana Wickrama Padakkama ("Combat Gallantry Medal") (Sinhala රණ වික්රම පදක්කම raṇa vikrama padakkama) medal and bar are presented to Sri Lankan military officers and other ranks as a reward for individual or allied acts of heroism in facing the enemy and performed of their own accord.

[edit] How medal awarded

It is ordained that the decoration shall be granted to all ranks of tri forces of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka for individual or associated acts of bravery in the face of the enemy and performed voluntarily and who are recommended by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, the Commander of the Navy or the Commander of the Air Force to receive the award under the terms and conditions defined in the regulations hereinafter made.

Recipient of the decoration will be eligible to use the post-nominal letters RWP after the name.
