Rana Shamim Ahmed is also known as Shamim Ahmed Khan or simply "Khan Sahib." He was elected twice to be a Member of Punjab Assembly from Faisalabad (previously known as Lyallpur) in Pakistan. Both times, he was elected by the provincial assembly to be the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab assembly. He is a staunch supporter of Pakistan Peoples Party formerly led by Benazir Bhutto and has dedicated his life to the famous motto of "Roti, Kapra aur Makan" (Food, Clothing and Housing for all).
