[edit] Speedy deletion of Gary McFeeders

A tag has been placed on Gary McFeeders requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ukexpat (talk) 03:49, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Jauerback

I have sources, but i have no idea how to cite them for this page. Please help me so i can cite them!!

Click on the links I left below. One is WP:CITE. Make sure they are VERIFIABLE SOURCES - not his website.
By the way, the article is not improving. You're still adding info about the dojos and their instructors. Most of that doesn't belong. You need to focus on him and him only. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 19:50, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Okay, you need to clarify something really quick, because this was the reason that I did not delete this article. You have "...He was also a olympic medalist in 1986 for the United Stated Tae Kwon Do team...". Well, I was searching for a source for you, because this is about the only thing that makes him notable, and according to the IOC website, "Taekwondo - Olympic sport since 2000". Also, a search of McFeeder on medalists on the website turn up nothing. Something isn't right here. Can you explain? Jauerbackdude?/dude. 20:06, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes I can explain. You see, Tae Kwon Do dodnt make the olympics until 2000, but that doesnt mean there wasnt an Olympic Games for Tae Kwon Do. Gary McFeeders was a olympic festival medalist in 1986, along with a u.s. national gold medalist, and was a member of the Olympic Training Team in Colorado. And the instructors that run the schools, which i have put on the page, are important. Gary is the over-sear of the schools, which are sometimes run by other instructors. I put the credentials for the instructors to show what type of athletes and leadership came from Gary. Gary has touched more lives in Bolivar and Northeast ohio than anyone could imagine. He is a positive in a world of negatives, and is a clear role model for children.

No, the instructors are not important and any details about them in this article will be deleted if his notabilty is established, which I am now having serious doubts about. I'll repeat this again: This is an article about Gary, NOT his dojos or his instructors. You need to find references for his medals, otherwise this article doesn't stand a chance for inclusion. I will either delete it myself or submit to to WP:AFD, if this doesn't improve. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 21:14, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
I'll give you another week or so to get this article cleaned up and properly referenced. If not, I'll submit it to WP:AFD. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 03:26, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Gary McFeeders

Okay, you need to be careful with the information that you are adding to this article. It's turning into an advertisement for his dojos. This is an article about Gary McFeeders, not about the dojo or anyone operating them.

You also need to cite some sources from verifiable sources. You can't rely exclusively on his website or contribute your own knowledge. You also need to maintain a NPOV and not use so many weasel words.

I'm also going to assume that you are affiliated with Gary, and therefore, probably have a conflict of interest, so be wary of your edits.

Read all the links in the Welcome message and the ones I've left above in this reply. I'll check back on your article later, but if you don't substantially improve it, it's possibly going to get deleted.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 04:42, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and please, please start using the edit summary when making any edits. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 04:45, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Gary McFeeders

An editor has nominated Gary McFeeders, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gary McFeeders and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 14:59, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
