[edit] Speedy delete?

This product set is well known amongst motorcyclists, boaters, pilots as being the foremost maker of modular mounts. It is to mounting systems what Ford or Toyota is to motor vehicles, only more so. Several manufacturers of electronic gizmos (PDAs, GPSs, echo sounders etc) supply RAM Mounts with their products (e.g. TomTom for the One Rider and Lowrance for the Airmap) or there are fittings suitable for the gizmo available from the company directly. I've declined the speedy deletion for now, as the article is no longer a short article. However, it currently does not assert any notability which makes still makes it a candidate for speedy deletion. I will give you a day or so to improve the article. I urge you to read the guidelines for notability of companies. -- Flyguy649 talk contribs 07:43, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
I never was going to leave it as it was. It is supremely annoying when the over-zealous deletionists enter into an edit war with creationists. It is easier to delete than it is to create! I urge you (or whoever it was) to read the speedy deletion criteria! Paul Beardsell 07:52, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
It was another user; you can look in the history to see who. I'm just the guy who decides whether to delete or not. I don't see the point in rushing to delete an article that seems to be going somewhere. -- Flyguy649 talk contribs 07:59, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
You serve a useful function but, as I guess you might agree, the asymmetry in the effort involved in creation vs that of deletion requires the latter is done with careful aforethought. The article was actually deleted, by the way, and I had to recreate it, whereupon an attempted slap down was tried on my talk page. It seems to me that, if you're going to urge people to do things properly, that you urge the others responsible for that to read the speedy delete procedure. Nov 19th 07 I have editied this page to include information about RAM Mounts, before it was an article that was written by a person it seems with no knowledge of these mounts. I took out some stuff that i had originally put in the article several days ago to reduce the "spam/advertising" This is not SPAM related article im not a good writer. If someone wants to edit all the "spam/advertisement like stuff" then feel free, but dont delete article please. I dont have any references or sources other than myself, i just know about the product and company. [edit] Advertisement

There is not currently pressure to delete the article and there should not be: RAM is to mounting systems what Ford is to motor vehicles. If we have an article on Ford we should have an article on RAM. But the article has fulsome praise for the product range: The article should not read like an advert or a company brochure.
