Ramiz Tafilaj

Ramiz Tafilaj (born May 6, 1949 in Lumnishta, Dečani, Yugoslavia – now Kosovo) is an Albanian-American businessman, activist, visionary and publisher. He acquired his higher education at the University of Zagreb and University of Houston, before becoming involved with hightech in oil and gas industries. He is head of Superior Computer Services in Houston, owns a publishing company Jalifat Group[1] and is founder of Tafilaj Group LLC.[2] Currently, he runs an international division in CES Environmental Services Inc.

Tafilaj has been long devoted to the liberation and independence of Kosovo, has helped the transition to democracy in Albania in the 1990s, and has sponsored over 40 students for their education in the United States. He has financed the publication of books of Albanian authors, such as Kosova's Independence: Stabilising or Destabilising Factor by Hajredin Kuçi, and Në rrugëtim me Kosovën: përpjetat dhe tatëpjetat by Faton Bislimi. He is a leading member of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, while in Texas he is a member of the Republican Party.

Tafilaj is married with three children. His son Besim is a retired basketball player, while his daughter Besa works as anchor for WCTI12 of the ABC.
