[edit] Plot summary

Amuro wanders through the desert, searching for water. He finds a town and enters the tavern, taking in some water and bread there. A transport pulls up near the door, and a few Zeon soldiers ender. They are followed by Crowley Hamona and Ramba Ral. They sit down to eat as Amuro watches them. Hamon orders them meals, ordering an extra one for Amuro.

Fraw is still driving, and finally spots the town. However, upon approaching she sees the transport. Amuro refuses the offer for food, getting a laugh out of Ramba. The men all comment on how lucky he is to gain Hamon's interest. Ramba likes him, and tells him to dine with them, but he is interrupted by a soldier outside. He drags in Fraw, and Amuro calls her name. They see that she is wearing a federation uniform, and Hamon comments that she must be Amuro's girlfriend. Ramba orders she be let go, and turns to Amuro. He tells him that he has the eyes of a soldier, to which the frightened Amuro responds by pulling his weapon. Now respecting him, Ramba sits, and wishes Amuro luck if they ever meet in battle. After they leave, Ramba gives a soldier orders to follow them and find the whereabouts of White Base.

Amuro drives a ways out, then stops and gets out of the vehicle. Fraw drives the rest of the way back, and the Zeon soldier follows closely in a motorcycle, and finds White Base. Fraw tells Bright that she found the Gouf and Amuro. Ramba and one of his men prepare for battle.

Amuro lies in the desert, thinking about Ramba and Hamon, who he knows are his enemies. His thoughts are interrupted as the Gouf and a Zaku fly overhead. Realizing the situation, he beings digging to get to Gundam.

They attack, and the Guncannon and Guntank are sent out to fight. Guntank is immobilized, but is left there as the enemy move son to take out White Base. Ryu flies off in the core fighter while Ryu and Kai remain, waiting. Amuro comes into battle, destroying some of the enemy vessels. Ryu comes in to take his place, and Amuro goes out to White Base. The Zaku comes up behind the ship, preparing to take it out with a shot to the stern. Before he is able to, the crew sets the engine to full power, disintegrating him. Mirai flips White Base, knocking Ramba off. He attacks Kai, wrapping him with the Gouf's heat rod. Amuro braks it in half, and begins fighting Ramba.

The two duel, and Ramba finally takes out his own beam saber. He slices Gundam's shield in half, but Amuro managed to get up above him. They both slice the other's cockpit. Ramba goes in for the kill, but Amuro ducks under the shot and slices off both the Gouf's hands. Now in close proximity, the two see each other through the cuts in their suits. Ramba attempt a tackle, but Amuro puts the beam saber through the Gouf's back. Ramba attaches a grappling hook to Gundam, being pulled out of the doomed suit. As he holds on, he shouts to Amuro that it was all Gundam's strength, not his own. The Gouf explodes, the blast sending him rolling over the sand.

Amuro is thrown into the brig, facing the anger of Bright and Ryu, a smarmy comment by Kai added in. Amuro calls for the crew members, wanting to talk to them and explain his actions, but no one comes. Amuro finally breaks down into tears, Ramba's words echoing in his mind.
