Ramarajapuram is a village panchayat in Nilakkottai taluk, Dindigul district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Ramarajapuram had a population of 9439. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Ramarajapuram has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 60%, and female literacy is 640. In Ramarajapuram, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.It has 5 Schools. According to Tamil Nadu Government's Department of School Education, list of the schools are Govt high school, two Primary Schools, New soman matriculation school.
Ramarajapuram is also having rich supply of water and is situated on the bank of river Vaigai. This small village is a source of natural beauty and agriculture is the primary occupation. Madurai and Dindigul are the major towns nearby.
This village has a government hospital which serves the needs of the poor people. The children from the village travel to pandiarajpuram, sholavandhan, vadipatti for their education in english medium.
The village see a lot of growth among the students going for higher education BE,ME,CA,MBA,MCA etc. The fully agriculture dependent village is seeing a lot of growth by these younger generation and seeing few guys in IT industry.This small village also has a track record of sending lots of brave youngsters to INDIAN army, CRPF, BSF etc.
The village guys are good in KABADI and very few among them represented state and national level teams.The CRICKET is always a powerful mantra for these village youths. Lots of tournaments they conduct and participate and keep them engaged. You can see children playing carom and chess in the streets.
