Ramapuram is a town in Kottayam district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is the birth place of famous writers like Ramapurath Warrier, Paremakkal Governadore & Lalithambika Antharjanam. It is situated in Palai & Koothattukulam road. The Sri Rama temple of Ramapuram is famous. The temples of Lakshmana, Bharatha & Shatrukhna are situated within 3.5km in nearby places Koodappulam, Amanakara and Methiri respectively.

The centuries-old, twin-churches of Ramapuram is one of the old churches existing in Kerala. The twin-church complex at Ramapuram consists of a smaller church dedicated to St. Augustine and a larger one dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. While the church dedicated to St. Augustine dates back to around 1450, the one dedicated to the Blessed Virgin was erected in 1864. The structures represent a unique architectural style prevalent in the early colonial period with the Persian facade showing marked influence over the Portuguese style. The Roman columns and the veranda too are rare features of the churches of a bygone era.

The house of Sri Ramapuratthu Warrier has now become a UP School as Ramapuratthu Warrier Memorial UP School. The former Indian President KR Narayanan's house at Uzhavoor is just 8 km from here. There are two famous schools - st.Augustine's higher secondary school[boys]& Sacred Heart high school[for girls].The well known Mar Augusthinose College is also situated at Ramapuram. The College is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Now Ramapuram is famous all over the world by the name of Blessed Fr.Augustine Thevarparambil (Kunjachan)who hails from this village. [1]
