Rama Satria Claproth, (born May 29, 1983, Bandung, Indonesia) is a well known Indonesian blues guitarist. Rama is arguably the only few blues guitarist in Indonesia. He began playing guitar at age 10, figuring out Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Albert King licks from his record collection. At age 14, he and his brothers Arya and Joshua formed a band they named Jaque Mate. Rama also formed a rock band he named Unknown Artist but never last long until September 2007. In November 2007, Jaque Mate moved on into a different new direction heading into pop music where as blues and rock in Indonesia has never been appreciated in the country. Jaque Mate then became Sonido with Joey Stephan on vocals, and Andre on bass. The band decided to write most of the songs in Indonesian language instead. By moving into a new direction playing pop music, most of their pop songs still has a "bluesy" feel. The two names Sonido and Jaque Mate are both Spanish.
