Ramón Víctor Casas Viera was born in Florida, Camagüey, Cuba, April 15, 1954. Since 1968 to 1973 he studied painting in Escuela Provincial de Arte in Camagüey.Between 1973-1976 he studied in Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) Havana, and since 1977 to 1982 in Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), Havana, Cuba.

Among his personal exhibitions we can quote "Pinturas y esculturas". Centro Provincial de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, Havana,1985,we can also mention "Esculturas. Ramón Casas Viera. Dos en Uno". Espacio Estudio, Havana,1995 and "Gafas" during the same year, Viena, Austria and in 1999 "Ramón Casas. Fragmente und Beziehungen". Galería Chica, Viena, Austria.

He was part of many collective exhibitions like "XIII Aniversario de la Escuela Nacional de Arte".Havana, Cuba,1975. In 1986 Escultura Contemporánea Cubana"" (collateral to 2nd Havana Biennial Bienal de La Habana. Galería de Arte 10 de Octubre, Havana and "Taller de arte actual. Julio Le Parc", 2nd Havana Biennial Bienal de La Habana. In 1995 he participated in the "First Salón de Arte Cubano Contemporáneo". Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Havana; In 1996 "Skulpturen und Grafische Werke aus Kuba". Museum Leuengasse, Zürich, Swizertland.

In 1985 he obtained a Mention in Salón de la Ciudad’85, Centro Provincial de Artes Plásticas y Diseño, Havana, Cuba.
