Ralph Steiner

Ralph Steiner (8 February 1899 – 13 July 1986) was an American photographer and filmmaker. His 1929 film H2O was added to the National Film Registry in December 2005. His other early films include Mechanical Principles (1930) and Surf and Seaweed (1931).
The City (1939), which Steiner co-directed with Willard Van Dyke, and which featured music by Aaron Copland, ran for two years at the 1939 New York World's Fair. He also was one of the cinematographers on The Plow That Broke the Plains (1936).
