Ralph Milton Beard, Jr. (December 2, 1927 – November 29, 2007) was an American collegiate and professional basketball player. He was born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky. Beard was a member of Adolph Rupp's "Fabulous Five" University of Kentucky basketball team. After the 1951 NBA season, both Alex Groza and himself were suspended from the NBA for life by commissioner Maurice Podoloff when the players admitted point shaving during their college careers. Beard died at his Louisville, Kentucky home in 2007.[1]
