[edit] Villages/Towns in Andhra Pradesh
Hi Rajasekhar!!. I see that you've created or edited many articles on Villages in Andhra Pradesh. Would you be interesed in contributing to Villages and towns in Andhra Pradesh?. Please see my user page for more details. --(Sumanth|Talk) 12:09, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Citing references
Hi Rajasekhar. I appreciate your effort in adding info about mandals in Vizianagaram district. Your work would be even better if you can follow a few guidelines while adding references. To see how to add a reference see the below example: [1]
See Wikipedia citing resources for more details. Happy editing :) --(Sumanth|Talk) 04:23, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Mandals in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam
Hi. I will try to create this in a day or two. --(Sumanth|Talk) 09:09, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Finished Mandals in Srikakulam district (38/38). Do you know the full name of L.N.Peta? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sumanthk (talk • contribs) 12:20, 5 March 2007 (UTC).
- The data from panchayat website is correct except for spellings of few mandals. I've corrected these names. One mandal is missing from Ap online website. I've verfied that this is a mistake. This mandal (Lakshminarasupeta or L.N.Peta) is mentioned as a mandal in a news article in The Hindu. --(Sumanth|Talk) 04:17, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Summaries
--Mel Etitis (Talk) 22:41, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Categories
Hi. I've removed the category "Post offices in India" added by you in a couple of articles. It is better to limit the number of categories in article. Please see Wikipedia:Categorization for more details. --(Sumanth|Talk) 08:37, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Geographical Coordinates
Hi. Could you please ensure that coordinates that you are adding are in decimal format and not in "DMS (degree minute second)" format? For e.g, the coordinates of paderu as per fallingrain.com are:
Latitude 18.5667 Longitude 84.3000 Altitude (feet) 19
Lat (DMS) 18° 34' 0N Long (DMS) 84° 17' 60E Altitude (meters) 5
Please ensure that you add 18.5667 and not 18.34. I request you to correct this. --(Sumanth|Talk) 09:05, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hope you have enjoyed the Ugadi festival. I know you are busy with pending work. Thank you for the correction. What is the correct method. I am entering the geographic coordinates at two places in the map table and in the text matter. Where to find about the particulars. You can answer later. Thanks. DR. A. RAJASEKHAR
-
- Hi. Lets continue discussions on a single page. It will be easier to follow. Thanks for Ugadi wishes. I hope you had a great time. There is absolutely no problem in entering the coordinates at two places. This convention is followed in many articles. For example see Bangalore#Geography. The coordinates under geography section should be entered in the following format {{coor d|12.97|N|77.56|E|}} . --(Sumanth|Talk) 04:34, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Please ensure that the coordinates in infobox and geography sub-section are the same. There is a mismatch in Palakonda and few other articles. --(Sumanth|Talk) 04:16, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Summaries again
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 11:25, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Auto Wiki browser
I appreciate your contribution to Andhra Pradesh geography articles. I would suggest you to try using AutoWikiBrowser to make such repetitive edits. It is easy to use and would save a lot of time once you get used to it. --(Sumanth|Talk) 07:25, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

I have fixed it now. See Narsingi. Thanks for letting me know. You can sign on talk pages by typing ~~~~ (four tildes). Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 17:11, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kotasaurus
Hey Rajasekhar!
Thanks for adding so much info to Kotasaurus. It is greatly appreciated. If you have more information on this genus, or possibly pictures, please feel free to add to the article. Wikipedia's coverage of dinosaurs is, to a great extent, limited to dinosaurs of the Western world. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Best wishes and happy editing, Firsfron of Ronchester 05:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] P.V. Ramanayya
Hello: This article P.V. Ramanayya that you contributed has been listed on Articles for Deletion for several days. There is confusion over what to do with the article, as there are no sources. If you could weigh in on the discussion there and/or provide sources, it would be very helpful. Cheers. —Gaff ταλκ 21:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:V.Ramalingaswami..jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:V.Ramalingaswami..jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Featured Article
Though I am not an expert, I would suggest the following guidelines:
- Adhere to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Indian_districts#Sections.
- Stick to WP:NOR,i.e, cite as many references as possible.
- Try to get good images (ideally one relevant image per section) with appropriate copyrights.
I will try my best to contribute. Lets hope this becomes the first featured article in WikiProject Andhra Pradesh.--(Sumanth|Talk) 08:37, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Gurajada_appa_rao.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Gurajada_appa_rao.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:52, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Images
There is no problem with image Vizianagaram collectorate as it has proper licence. Any image uploaded with proper licence can be used in any article. The same cannot be said about Image:Gurajada_appa_rao.jpg. Fair use is a law of US govt. So I think we cannot use images from India websites. You can use it only if the photo itself is more than 60yrs old. In this case I think the photo may not be that old (even though the painting is very old). You can use images from Indian govt websites under the tag {{India-politician-photo}} .--(Sumanth|Talk) 04:04, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I forgot to answer your question regarding images in AP online site. The copyright for the content is held by TCS and we cannot use these images. --(Sumanth|Talk) 04:35, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Census data
I have census data about all the districts in Andhra pradesh. It includes list of all villages in each district, population, literacy rate etc. Would you be interested in adding this to articles that you are updating? I can email the data to you. --(Sumanth|Talk) 04:56, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've emailed the files to you. WP:Barnstar can be given by any user to other user in appreciation of their work. I do not know how to search for images. I will try to gather some info and get back. --(Sumanth|Talk) 05:19, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Many users display their barnstars on their user pages. See this example. --(Sumanth|Talk) 05:23, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Neelam Sanjiva Reddy
Hi, someone seems to have deleted lot of info from previous versions of the article. Mid-2006 versions were very long and informative. Thanks for expanding the article now, but you may want to have a look at those versions. Also, you mention that he was elected president in 1967. he was the official candidate but defeated by V. V. Giri. Neelam was elected unopposed in 1977 and is the only person to have been elected so. --Gurubrahma 06:15, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Requesting your comments
Could you please comment on Talk:Andhra_Pradesh#Requesting_comments_on_Uttarandhra?. --(Sumanth|Talk) 04:36, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just wanted to clarify that the issue was not about the wikipage Uttarandhra. There are no issues about that. It was about the broad geographic divisions of Andhra pradesh. Please see the first sentence in Andhra_Pradesh#Geography and my comments on talk page. --(Sumanth|Talk) 07:50, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Images in Telugu wikipedia
Could you please request the admins on telugu wikipedia to provide copyright info about the images? We can upload the images to Wikimedia and use them on both the wikis. Admins వైజాసత్య or Mpradeep would be able to provide this info.--(Sumanth|Talk) 04:45, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- Please see this User_talk:Sumanthk#Mandal_Images_from_tewiki:_Copyright_info. We can use these images. I would suggest uploading these images to Wikimedia Commons.--(Sumanth|Talk) 08:17, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hi
Hi Rajasekhar
This is Ravi Gompa... working in Australia IBM and Born and bought up in Chintapalli. Iam very much surprised and at the same time happy to see my home town details on Wikipedia. Jus wanna know how ur related to that place.
Thanks Ravi
Dear Ravi, Thank you very much. I am a pathologist in Hyderabad., belongs to North east coastal Andhra Pradesh. I am native of Salur, which is in the same tribal belt, which is very backward. I am entering data related to the Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts. If you have any good information about your area Chintapalle and surrounding region, It would be very good.Dr. Rajasekhar A. 08:23, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism
Vandals are destroying articles related to Andhra Pradesh, Telugu language, Telugu script and many articles related to Telugu history. These people, about eight, have ganged up and are helping each other to prevent unbiased contributions. The history of South India and even that of the whole of India is being painted as that belonged to a linguistic group. History is being re-written on the basis of a couple of books written by parchial and localized historians and a couple of websites devoted to regional agenda and chauvantic tendencies. A perusal of their contributions and citations will make my point obvious. I appeal to you to regularly visit Telugu and Andhra-related articles and prevent vandalism by these mischief makers.Kumarrao 10:23, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image source problem with Image:AndhraMedicalCollege logo.jpg
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:AndhraMedicalCollege logo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:08, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Mettapalli
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Mettapalli, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}

[edit] Vizianagram royal family
Sir, do you have any books about the Vizianagram royal family. I have been trying to find out the exact reason why Maharajkumar of Vizianagram moved to Benares in 1922. It seems that it was because of a quarrel with his elder brother who had become the Maharaja that year, but don't have any sources to confirm. Tintin 08:03, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
