BRIEF HISTORY
In 1805, the Nepalese General Amar Singh Thapa lead a troop of 40,000 soldiers against Maharaja Sansar Chand-2 of Kangra. In 1809, Maharaja Sansar Chand-2 appealed for help from Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Lahore, which was readily given and the Gurkhas driven out.Instead of returning to Lahore army of Maharaja Ranjit Singh captured Siba Fort in 1813 and Kangra Fort in 1820 .At that time, Raja Sansar Chand was the ruler of Kangra and Raja Gobind Singh was the ruler of Siba State.Later on Siba State was re-instated as an independent state in samvat 1830, perhaps as a gesture in return for the grant of Raja Govind Singh's (25 th rules of Siba State) in, two daughters marriagd to Raja Dhian Singh, elder brother Raja Gulab Singh of Jammu and Chief Minister of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. But under the term of restoration, the fort of Siba remained in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's hands, three quarters of the state being made over to Raja Gobind Singh and one quarter to his cousin,Mian Devi Singh, Siba tributary to the Sikh Army of Maharaja Ranjit Singh,1830-1845. In another words Siba State was also devided into two parts one part that is 1/3 rd of the State was with Raja Gobind Singh and 1/4 th was given to Mian Devi Singh and fort was under Sikhs ( Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Army). So the Siba State devided into two parts, one is Siba State and the ruler was Raja Gobind Singh , the other is Siba Jagir and the ruler was Mian Devi Singh. So two branches were created automatically i.e. Koi Branch and Kotla Branch. After the death of Raja Gobind Singh , his son Raja Ram Singh became Raja of Siba State. He married with one Rani namely Kulti Ganga Daee, she died in samvat 1936 and her ashes were immersed in Ganga River in Bhado month. Raja Ram Singh fought against the Sikhs in the second Sikh war and was able to take from them the Siba Fort, which upuntil they had garrisoned; he also ousted his counsin Mian Devi Singh from his jagir in Kotla. Later on,in 1848, English Rulers incorportated Siba Jagir(territory of Mian Devi Singh) alongwith its other sister states namely Datarpur, Jawan, Guler.Thereafter, the English rulers linked Datarpur to Siba Jagir under the joint name of Dadu-Siba presently known as Dada-Siba and both incorporated in the British district of Kangra. Raja Ram Singh, however, with the help of his brother Sunder Singh retained the state and the Royal Chair of Raja . Raja Ram Singh also restored the Radha Krishan Temple in Siba and to have built the palace on the hill-top. On appeal to the British Vice Royal at Lahore , the share of Siba Jagir i.e. 1/4 th of Siba State was later on restored to Bijai Singh son of Mian Devi Singh by the British in 1858 but did not acknowledge him as Raja.Later on, after the creation of Dada-Siba,the britishers created Jai Singh son of Bijai Singh as Raja of Dada-Siba Jagir but Siba State remained an Independent State. Evidence is very much present as Siba State is very much shown as Independent State in the map of Punjab State Agencies,1946. When britishers were planning for another attemps to capture Siba State of Raja Ram Singh, Sunder Singh, brother of Raja Ram Singh, who was also looking after the seat of wazir of Siba, went to Lahore in a horse race. Sunder Singh stood first there. Thakur Sunder Singh often visited Lahore via Chak Ladian, famous village within the Hoshiarpur District where he had warm welcome by the local people. Chak Ladian was muslim gujjar populated area. On return to his home in Koi (Siba),he saw britishers with the members of Dada-Siba royal family ,on the bank of river Bias,on the border of Dada-Siba(Jagir)and Siba State, thereafter the whole automosphere turned into an armed conflict in which two britishers and one of the royals, who belongs to Koi was killed and he was held responsible for killing with his gun . There were no rule under which the Royal was punished for killing some one, therefore, as a result the English played a game and exiled Thakur Sunder Singh from Dada Siba (Jagir). As he also killed one member of his own family(cousin),he showed his inablity to reside in Siba.He hided himself and migrated to village:Chack Ladian of Kapurthala Princely State, presently situated in Hoshiarpur District of Punjab(India). There he took shelter in an Inn of Puran Shah Suthara,Head of Suthra community of village:Chack Ladian. After few months,he purchased a piece of land in between Village: Chack Ladian and Chack Nur Ali from one Jagirdar and thereafter, resided in Tents and made their own kingdom presently known as village:Tantpalan.
Thakur Sunder Singh went Haridwar with the ashes of Raja Ram Singh in Samvat 1931.
Thakur Sunder Singh had four sons namely Birbal, Dula, Phalli and Bahadur.
His wife name was Mrs. Lado. Later on, these sons built houses and also captured small piece of land there and with the passage of time peoples from other communities also started living there with their families for example a family from Lohar(Blacksmiths) migrated from Bari-Khad and Sunder Singh gave them shelter,so village Tantpalan exists. The name of Tant Palan was also suggested by decendents of Sunder Singh which means lived in tants (Tant meant Tant and Palan means lived).Thakur Birbal, elder son of Kanwar Sunder Singh was married to Mrs. Jhalli and survived by his three sons namely Tholu Ram, ,Sohan Singh and Duni Chand. His ashes were immersed in Ganga river by his son Sohan Singh. The second son of Thakur Sunder Singh namely Dulla had two sons namely Chajju Ram and Kirpa Ram. Tholu Ram did not marry. Thakur Duni Chand succeeded on the Gaddi(Seat) of Thakur Birbal.Thakur Duni Chand married to Mala Devi belonged to Thakur family of Prithvi Pur near Daulat pur Chownk in Una District, now in Himachal Pradesh. Either Duni Chand or Tholu Ram died in the Samvat 1934 and his ashes were immersed in Ganga River by his brother Sohnu @ Sohan Singh. Thakur Duni Chand had three sons and one daughter : Bhag Singh, Nama Ram and Amin Chand; Bhag Singh married to Paro Devi and had two sons namely Thakur Suram Singh and Thakur Jagat Ram. Younger son of Thakur Duni Chand namely Thakur Amin Chand married to Manso Devi . Thakur Nama Ram succeeded on the Gaddi ( seat) of Thakur Duni Chand. Second son of Thakur Duni Chand namely Thakur Nama Ram married twice. . The name of his first wife was Mrs. Lajwanti Devi daughter of Thakur Vaqil Chand of village:Nari, Post Office:Mangoowal, near Gagret(Himachal Pradesh) in Hoshiarpur District. Mrs. Lajwanti Devi died in 1939 due to Asthmatic attack. Her ashes were immersed by Thakur Nama Ram himself.Mrs. Lajwani gave birth to four sons and two daughters namely Mehar Chand, Somitra Devi, Amar Chand Thakar,Thakur Anup Singh , Onkar Chand, and Sheela Devi. After that, Thakur Nama Ram re- married to Mrs. Jyani Devi of village:Kukanet in Hoshiarpur District.Mrs. Jyanti Devi(Chinti Devi) was the daughter of Thakur Hukam Singh Dadwal . Thakur Nama Ram died on 2-2-1982 and his wife namely Mrs. Jyanti Devi died on 1-8-1993 and their ashes were timely immersed in Ganga River by Thakur Jagdish Chand. She gave birth to two sons and one daughter namely Thakur Jagdish Chand, Thakur Kuldeep Chand @ Thakar Kuldeep Chand and Leela Devi. First and fifth child of Thakur Nama Ram died in early age, second and ninth child namely Thakur Amar Chand & Thakur Kuldeep Chand are settled in Britain. Third and seventh child namely Thakur Anup Singh and Thakur Jagdish Chand are living in Chandigarh ( India ). Thakur Anup Singh had three sons and one daughter. Mrs. Santosh daughter of Thakur Anup Singh married to Kanwar Sandeep Singh. Other two sons are Pardeep Thakur and Sanjeev Thakur. Elder son of Thakur Anup Singh namely Dr. Ashok K. Thakur is an Ayurvedic Physician ,and also sworn-in and unanimously recognised as Raja of Sibaias by the Princely house of Siba and now present titled SIBAIA RAJA(Head of Sibaia Clan Rajputs). Raja Dr.Ashok K. Thakur(Ayurvedic Physician & titled Raja of Sibaias) had one daughter namely Shikha Thakur and one son namely Thakur Digvijay Singh. 'Siba Jagir was in-corporated in India in 1956 i.e., same time when other princely states like Kangra state Guler state, Jaswan Duh, Datarpur state etc. were merged in India.Siba State is also situated in Himachal Pradesh in India and automatically incorporated in India. The Titled Rajas(titled Rulers) of erstwhile princely states of India are presently working as Head of different Clans in social and cultural activities of their clans. Therefore, as ordered by Raja of Siba, all the Rajputs of Sibaia clan are now Indian or from Indian origin ,they should show full faith in Indian Constitution and Law , till further orders.
