Talk:Rajan Sankaran

[edit] Reasons for Proposed Deletion
- The article does not cite any verifiable independent sources for Dr. Sankaran's claimed fame
- Article does not present a NPOV
- The bibliography does not mentions publishers and other details. Thus it is impossible to verify if the listed books exist, or if they self-published, or if they have been cited in scientific literature etc.

Some evidence of how Sankaran is seen as influential can be found with a simple web search for "Rajan Sankaran influential" [1] This isn't, in itself, an encyclopedic source but seeing as how he's one of the world's most frequently cited homeopaths, this is a conservative statement. He's not as well known as George Vithoulkas (about 30k Google hits) who is probably the best known living homeopath but he's certainly up there (about 18k hits). Considering that he's much younger than Vithoulkas, this is significant. Re. the publishers names, these are details that can be added. The books most certainly exist both in printed form and in the main electronic databases of homeopathic literature (you can buy his books on Amazon). In the world of homeopathy, Sankaran is considered a star. --Lee Hunter 20:40, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Lee: The information you have added to the main and the talk page, largely address my 1st and 3rd objections. It would be helpful if we could cite sources for statements like "profound influence on many modern homeopaths' methods of practice", "one of the world's most frequently cited homeopaths" - I don't necessarily doubt their content, but believe that citation is essential for an encyclopedia. In summary: I still have issues with the POV of the article as it stands, but agree with you that it should be improved rather than deleted. Abecedare 21:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Link fraud
I've just realized that last August, someone inserted a link to their own web site and labelled it as Sankaran's. It's been sitting there all this time. Grrrrrr! --Lee Hunter 14:07, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] recent changes
I've changed around a lot of the text. I hope I didn't step on anyone's toes. Abridged 19:21, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
