Coordinates: Rajura is a city and a municipal council in Chandrapur district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It lies in the heart of Coal & Cement producing areas of Maharashtra.

Rajura is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 181 metres (593 feet). Rajura is located on the banks of River Wardha.

In rajura there are many English schools and govt. schools.One of the famous school is zilla Parishad high school which is more than 50 year old.

As of 2001 India census[2], Rajura had a population of 25,842. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Rajura has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 67%. In Rajura, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Jogapur is one of the famous place 10 km from Rajura. The famous Hanuman temple and many temples are situated nearby to the lake in Jogapur. Shri saibaba temple on the bank of wardha river is the "chota shirdi" in Maharastra is under development.Every thursday there is prayer offered to shri saibaba.After it there is Mahaprasad,arranged by "Anna dan seva samiti"
