Rajputani

Rajput ladies are referred as Rajputani or Kshatrani. Some famous ladies of Rajput birth include:

• Mirabai, the famous Bhakti saint;
• Ranak Devi of Junagadh;
• Rani Padmini, of the first Jauhar at Chittorgarh;
• Rani Karamvati, of the second Jauhar at Chittorgarh;
• Hadi Rani, bride of a Chundawat warrior.
• Rani Durgavati of Garha-Mandala, born in the Chandella clan
• Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur.

Other rajputni's have figured majorly in legends, often being the prime cause of their husband's recorded exploits. These include:

• Prabhavati, a.k.a. "Chanchal", bride of Rana Raj Singh of Mewar (legendary story);
• Samyukta, daughter of Jaichand of Kannauj and bride of Prithviraj Chauhan.
