Rajju

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One Rajju or Rajlok is the distance covered by a deva flying for six months at the rate of 2,057,152 Yojans every Samay (approx. 2,047,540,985,856,000 kilometres. or 216.5 light-years). It can also be equivalent to the distance traveled in 6 months by a ball of iron weighing 1,000 Bhar let fall freely from Swarga, home of Indra. Seven rajjus make a Jagasreni.

The concept of Rajju was born of the desire to quantify relative dimensions in time and space in proportion to the achievement of Nirvana or some similar enlightened state.
