Rajarampuri

Rajarampuri is a suburb in the city of Kolhapur in southern Maharashtra, India. It was named after its founder Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj the former ruler of the historic city. It is typically as residential area dotted with numerous stores trading in everything from garments to electronics and from grocery to jewellery.
Rajarampuri consist of a plan with a main road going down its length and streets intersecting it at right angles. The streets are called gallis and are numbered from 1 to 14.
It also shows a prominent presence of youth, as compared to other areas in the city, with many alfresco cafes, restaurants and ice-cream parlours on the main road itself. Cyber cafes, pool halls, music shops are the other youth oriented business in the vicinity. The apparent nature is due to its proximity to Shivaji University and other educational institutions, bringing a lot of students to the area.
