Rajagiriya is one of the main residential and Commercial suburbs after Nugegoda in the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte municipal limits. Rajagiriya is bordered by Borella and Ethul Kotte.

• Central Rajagiriya is the Northern area, where many of the institutions such as the Elections Department are based.
• Obeysakerapura is another area in Northern Rajagiriya.
• Nawala is the Western area of Rajagiriya and Extends up to the canals near the Open University, Sri Lanka.
• Nawala-Koswatte, is the area from the koswatte junction towards Gateway College.
• Welikada includes the main junction and the Eastern section up to the HSBC center.
