  • So far as I'm aware, "Götz" and "Goetz" are interchangeable and the latter redirects to the former, so no change needed. (Also, being German, Götz/Goetz himself most likely uses the former.)  Regards, David Kernow 18:00, 11 May 2006 (UTC), amended 16:46, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Support That "Götz" and "Goetz" are interchangeable in German is common misconception. I am German myself and have studied Goetz. His real, official and state registered name is Rainald Maria Goetz, with "oe". The pronunciation would not change but that would be to say "Shakespeare" could be called "Shakespier". For further information check the German Wikipedia or his publishing company http://www.suhrkamp.de. Happy 07:58, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Support. Goetz goes by oe just like Goethe goes by oe. The common interchangeability between ö and oe does not hold for names. ~ trialsanderrors 08:10, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the insight, Happy and trialsanderrors. Let the renaming proceed!  Best wishes, David 16:46, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Moved, of course. —Nightstallion (?) 07:13, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
