[edit] MK4
On Mortal Kombat 4, Raiden has a Japanese character on his back. What does it mean?
- It would seem that the character is Chinese for Thunder. I believe that's in the article now. Chuffable 18:24, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Raiden's weight
MK 1 gives it as 350 lbs; MKDA gives it at 230 lbs. I know that DA is more recent, but personally, I think saying Raiden a very well muscled, bulky 7 footer is only 230 lbs is ridiculous. He would be skinnier than Li Mei if he was 7' and 230 lbs. So which should we use?
I think we should use 350 ibs-Triple-Quadruple
While I agree that a 7 foot man who weighs 230 lbs would be incredibly skinny, Raiden is not a man. He is a Thunder God. You can explain away his lost pounds by saying that he can use thunder and lightning to somehow decreases his weight, or that his god status means he weighs substantially less than a normal man despite looking incredibly toned. You can think up whatever you want, but put quite simply gods do not have to comply to normal nature, therefore we should stick with the MK: Deadly Alliance stats until Midway say otherwise. Minty Fresh Death 21:15, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed; there's no reason to think that a deity would weigh a "normal" weight. And plenty of other things from MK1 have been ignored (Goro being a half dragon/half human, for example), and this would qualify as one of those things. EVula 21:55, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Based on "Lightning"
Was Raiden being based on that character from Big Trouble In Little China ever confirmed by the developers or is it still just speculation? I know it seems obvious to us but you never know. --Graphic 00:40, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Pretty sure they came out and stated it at some point. Shadaloo 04:37, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- Just because it appears obvious to you doesn't mean its true. They do look and act similar, but that is by no means proof. It needs to be cited. 71.9.58.46 18:08, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Yeah, the way it is stated right now, it needs a citation (though I agree that Raiden was probably based off of Lightning). EVula 18:20, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Space between About Raiden and Storyline
I can't fix it... can somebody please fix it for me? PNF 01:34, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Proud Nintendo fan
[edit] Conquest role
I expanded Jeffrey Meek's role in more detail since his personality in the series merits some attention. I believe there may be more than one person who regards his characterization to be less appreciative than Lambert's, but more so than Remar's. AtenRa 16:52, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Versus screen image in MKT of Raiden
Why the Raiden´s versus screen image in MKT is portayed by Sal Divita instead of being portrayed by Carlos Pesina?
- From the article: Even though Raiden/Rayden has been portrayed by Midway employee and martial artist Carlos Pesina in all the original games and all sprites, Raiden/Rayden’s versus screen image in MKT is portrayed by Sal Divita, who is also responsible for Nightwolf and all three cybernetic ninjas (Smoke, Sektor, and Cyrax). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.21.144.217 (talk • contribs)
[edit] Mergeing of trivia
In case anyone hasn't noticed, we had one hell of a lot of trivia on this page. I've put anything worth noting from the game into a 'game information' section (which can be renamed later) which has cut this down to half a dozen trivias. Trivia though while is useful to know, there shouldn't be mass amounts on Wikipedia's pages. Everyone should try and avoid using trivia sections that large. [edit] Dark Raiden?
Why is everyone saying that Dark Raiden is going to be abolished for MK: Armageddon? Not only is he Dark Raiden in the intro video, but the Character section at the mkarmageddon.com website clearly shows him in the Dark Raiden attire on the video (even if the render picture appears to be of "light" Raiden). I say we keep the speculation about Raiden's look for MK:A to a minimum until we actually get a chance to play the game. Minty Fresh Death 21:17, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Given the conflicting information (all coming from good sources), I agree that a bit of speculation is in order. Viva la IAR! EVula 21:43, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Dark Raiden isn't Evil, He's still a good guy but he has gotten a Darker. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lego3400 (talk • contribs)
[edit] Neutral Alignment
Seeing how Raiden has gotton into the habbit of wanting to destroy entire realms and what not, shouldn't he be less good than he used to be? I vote to switch his alignement to Neutral.
- I'm Not sure. His orginal alginment was good. But his new one is under question for now leave it at good.Lego3400: The Sage of Time 20:23, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Raiden's Alignment
I'm a little concerned about the alignment and the footnote, but I do think that the footnote is a good idea. I'm not too concerned (so it's not important), I just have an opinion! :)
Firstly, I know Raiden's MK One story was brushed over, but I don't think the footnote should say he was a force of good from the onset of the franchise. I take the franchise to mean the real arcade machines, cartridges, and disks, as opposed to the fictional MK story. It suggests to me that the MK team gave him a "good" story in the first game, but his ending would've seen him destroy Earth. I'd like to keep the footnote mostly as it is, but suggest that the first sentence starts with "Raiden was inarguably a force of good in the Mortal Kombat storyline...", and remove the last sentence (for reasons which I'll go into).
Now, about Raiden's alignment. His actions in the opening of MK:D undoubtedly changed him, but his character card in that game still says that he is good. If he was labelled as good intentionally, I think I can understand it. From MK:D forward, his story shows him to be a corrupt character whose actions would threaten many, but he believes that his actions would ultimately keep Earthrealm safe - something he has tried to do all along (except MK One!). He is a vengeful God, of sorts (That's my understanding of it, but I can't really elaborate - I don't believe in Gods in the Biblical sense). Anyway, Midway (for whatever reason) still put his MK:D card in MK:A, with his "good" label. Because of that, I think it's still the canon standpoint. RobWill80 02:54, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Works for me. I only did it like that because I was tired of it going back and forth; off the top of my head, I couldn't remember his actual alignment, but knew that someone would probably come along and point out what it really should be. :) EVula 03:04, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flying Thunder God
I would suggest a change to the description of the Flying Thunder God move, pertaining to his flying "like Superman". Superman is known to fly with one fist upward(/forward in flight) and Raiden flies at his opponent in this move with both fists forward. Thanks Chuffable 18:30, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Raiden's Storyline?
Eh...someone replaced the entire text in Raiden's story with some random stuff. We should probably get that back. Anyone? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.77.61.40 (talk) 21:52, 27 January 2007 (UTC).
Ah. It's back. Never mind.
[edit] Raiden and Little China
This character is entirely and clearly taken from Carpenter's movie, the way he moves and casts thunders... and all He gets for that is two lines even going "it appears that". Are you chaps nuts ?84.220.38.195 11:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Raiden's staff
Actually, Raiden has used a staff since even Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm. Angie Y. (talk) 02:28, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
