Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) EAD was established in June 1994 under the Bulgarian Law on Banking and Credit Activities and has a full banking licence for domestic and international banking activities. Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich AG (RZB-Austria), Vienna through Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG (RI), owns 100 % of Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) EAD capital. It started operations on January 3, 1995 and is the first wholly owned subsidiary of a Western bank to commence operations in Bulgaria.
