[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Dear Rahiim03: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!   -WarthogDemon 04:44, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Florida

I have reverted the change you made to Florida, stating that it is the largest state east of the Mississippi River, because it is incorrect. As shown at List of U.S. states by area, Michigan is larger if total area is addressed, and if only land area (excluding coastal areas) is considered, Michigan, Georgia, Illinois and Wisconsin are each larger. Down in the geography section, it is noted that Florida is one of the largest states east of the Mississippi River, and only Alaska and Michigan are larger in water area, but it is not the largest. Citing the book, "The New History of Florida", copyrighted 1996, Published by the University of Florida Press (Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication Data/edited by Michael Gannon) pp. 428, 1st paragraph: "Florida is Geographically the largest state east of the Mississippi--recent calculations boosted the Sunshine State over its rival, Georgia. Florida boasts 65,758 square miles of land mass and 3,800 miles of tidal shoreline."Rahiim03 (talk) 08:15, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
