[edit] hangon

Jmlk17 placed a speedy tag on this article.

Jmlk18 didn't comply with the policy that tells taggers not to tag articles immediately after creation, waiting just three minutes after its creation.

Apparentely Jmlk18 does not consider a senior member of the Taliban who has conducted secret peace negotiations with Hamid Karzai to merit coverage in the wikipedia.

There are two Guantanamo captives named Ramatullah in Guantanamo. Ramatullah is a common name in Afghanistan. Both of the Guantanamo captives named Guantanamo found themselves accused of being senior Taliban leaders. So, I decided to track down other individuals named Rahmatullah, who were accused of ties to the Taliban. If there are multiple individuals who are likely to be confused with one another then it useful to have an article about each one. It prevents a lot of mistakes when well-meaning people assume there is just one individual, and add new details, but which are really for another guy.

Jmlk17, is there any way you would consider giving the creators of article a longer grace period of longer than three minutes? Is there a reason you don't give a longer grace period than three minutes?

Hi; tagging an article does not cause it to go; deletion can only be performed by an admin, and none have so far done so. The article as at stands does lack detail - there is a lotr more detail on this talk page!. Do you intend to expand the article?--Anthony.bradbury 21:44, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Do I intend to expand this article? I would, if I had more to add, that didn't bend WP:NPOV, or WP:NOR.
Is it reasonable for someone to speculate that the two Rahmatullahs, in Guantanamo, who are accused of being senior Taliban officials, are being mistaken for Rahmatullah Mansoor? What a private individual might speculate about, in their blog, is different than what a wikipedia contributor can speculate about in article space. I think speculation about conflation of the Guantanamo captives named Rahmatullah, who are accused of being senior Taliban leaders, with actual, real Taliban leaders, would violate WP:NOR, if it didn't cite an authorized, verifiable source.
Similarly, the conclusion that Rahmatullah is a common name? Interested readers may draw that conclusion, if they read Rahmatullah (Taliban). But I think drawing that conclusion for them would violate WP:NPOV.
The way I see it, the reports of secret negotiations with Hamid Karzai alone make him significant enough to merit an article in the wikipedia, even if it has to remain brief now, because little is known about him. Some articles about people who merit articles are brief because no one has gotten around to expanding them. But this guy's article may have been expanded as far as it could be, given what he can verify from an authoritative source.
I realize others may disagree with this view. If so, I will look forward to having a civilized discussion about it.
