Rahuri is located at 19.38° N 74.65° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 511 metres (1676 feet).

As of 2001 India census[2], Rahuri had a population of 34,465. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Rahuri has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 63%. In Rahuri, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

  • Shri Ramakrishna Saraswati Kshirsagar Swamiji (1934 - 1999): Swamiji worked for the rejuvenation and revival of Vedas, Vedic Hindu traditions and Vedic ideology.Datta Kshetra have been formed by divine power of Ramkrishna Saraswati. His Birth Place is Rahuri.
