[edit] Early & Family life
Rahul Easwar was born in a Malayala Brahmin family. He is the grandson of the supreme priest of Sabarimala Tantri Kantararu Maheshwararu. His higher studies were in philosophy and psychology.
[edit] In Media
He was the spokesperson for priests of Sabarimala during the Jaimala Controversy and Tantri controversy issues. When many feminist organisations and other sections demanded the entry for women in Sabarimala, he countered their arguments, claiming that 'Sabarimala temple's philosophy is the philosophy of celibacy and keeping out woman for creating a 'psychological space'. He also countered the arguments of Kerala Government that 'Sabarimala was a buddhist shrine' by saying that the allegations are foolish and baseless
Easwar was coordinating the Tantris and Brahmins of Kerala to allow the entry of all believers irrespective of religion into temple. He was in the media taking the initiative and presenting 'Second Temple Entry Proclamation'.
Easwar was in news when he lashed out at the Kerala minister G.Sudhakaran saying the minister has attacked and hurt sentiments of the Hindu Community. He was arrested for trying to conducting a 'symbolic protest pooja' in front of Kerala Secretariat against G. Sudhakaran. He was arrested by the Kerala Police twice for his protests against Government and Devasom Minister. He also initiated the campaign against controversial painter M.F.Hussain in Kerala, resulting in the withdrawal of Raja Ravi Varma award for Hussain upon the suggestion of Kerala High Court. He alleged that Hussain has insulted 'Bharat Matha' and Hindu dieties by painting them in a wrong manner.
[edit] Published books
He published two books on his studies. 'The Philosophy of Philosophy' and 'The Philosophy of Vedanta'.
