Rahab is a video game character in the Legacy of Kain series. He was voiced by Neil Ross. In the early stages of production, the vampires who were part of his clan were known as the 'Aluka'.

[edit] Sarafan life

Rahab was born over 500 years before the start of the first game. He became one of the leaders of the Sarafan Order. Rahab was not present when his brethren killed the ancient Vampire, Janos Audron, and only appeared during Soul Reaver 2 during a brief fight against a future version of his fellow Sarafan Raziel. After his death at Raziel's hands, Rahab's corpse was interred in the Tomb of the Sarafan. Ironically, his armor was decorated with the images of two seahorses, which indicated the eventual outcome of his vampiric unlife.

[edit] Vampire Unlife

Centuries after his death, Rahab was risen from the Tomb of the Sarafan as Kain's third youngest Vampire son. He assisted his brethren and master in their conquest of Nosgoth, and upon the subjugation of the Humans was given clan territory in an unknown location. After he and his clan began to develop a distaste for the sun's rays, they moved to the flooded valley which they would eventually inhabit. As the centuries progressed, Rahab evolved/degenerated into a sleek leviathan. Unlike his brethren, Rahab never developed an immunity to Nosgoth's faded sunlight, and so was forced to overcome the natural Vampiric weakness to water. At the time of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver's opening sequence, while he remains a humanoid Vampire, traits of his evolution have already become apparent. His skin is possessed of a sea-blue tinge, his eyes are a deep cyan, and he has gill-like flaps across his neck.

These traits were passed onto his vampire children. However, while they were amphibious, Rahab later became unable to leave water due to the transformation of his legs into a fish-like fin. Rahab and his children also had the ability to fire projectiles of a water-like substance at enemies from afar. Some time between Raziel's execution and his resurrection as a wraith, Rahab's clan moved to an abandoned abbey that was half-submerged in a flooded valley.

After his resurrection, Raziel confronted Rahab in his flooded chamber within the abbey's confines. Perhaps the most intelligent of the six Vampire lieutenants, Rahab was well-versed in Nosgoth's history. He was also quite loyal to his master, as apparent upon his calm reaction to Raziel's revelation that he was once a Sarafan priest. Kain had previously confided in Rahab the information that Raziel would return and would seek to destroy him, but Rahab would not be defeated without putting up a fight. He continually lashed at Raziel using his shark-like jaws while the wraith attempted to overcome him. Using telekinesis, Raziel killed his brother by shattering the windows of Rahab's lair to shine beaming rays of sunlight onto his body, scorching him to death. Upon devouring Rahab's soul, Raziel obtained Rahab's resistance to water and ability to swim.
