Raging Planet is a 1997 Discovery Channel documentary series which focuses on natural disasters.The show first aired on The Discovery Channel in 1998.It now is aired from time to time on Science Channel.

The show focuses generally on natural disasters that happen on Earth which all of us know about,e.g tornadoes, hurricane, wildfire, flood, avalanche, blizzard, earthquake, tsunami and volcanic eruptions.It features actual videos taken during the time actual natural disasters occur. The show also at times use scale models rather than CGI to demonstrate the destroying power of the featured natural disaster in real life. They also film rescue teams, scientists, victims and predictions centres that are involved in natural disasters.

Hurricane: This featured hurricanes that happened in the North America area before 1997 (one year before the programme was completed).It also featured typhoons in Japan and cyclone occurrence in India, Bangladesh and Australia. A life-sized house was destroyed using a simulated surge of water to demonstrate the destructive force of a storm surge as a direct result of hurricanes on a typical wooden seaside house.
