Ragda pattice

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ragda pattice is a popular Indian fast food or snack commonly found in Mumbai. It is usually found at places or stalls that offer chaat-based items like bhelpuri or panipuri. This dish consists of two main dishes such as ragda, a yellow pea soup and pattice, a pancake-like dish. Ragda is prepared by boiling yellow peas in water along with flavouring agents like haldi (turmeric powder) until they are almost dissolved. The patties are pan-fried, mashed potato cutlets. While serving, 2–3 patties are covered with the stew-like ragda and garnished with finely chopped onions, coriander leaves, spicy chutney and sweet sauce.
