Ragas Dental College

Ragas Dental College & Hospital commonly called "RDC chennai", is one of the pioneer institutes for dental medicine in India. It is located in the outskirts of Madras (now Chennai), India and is one of the schools that are solely dedicated to the field of academic dentistry.

It is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr M G R Medical University. It offers undergraduate and graduate courses in dental medicine. Graduate courses are offered in the following disciplines of dental medicine.

  1. Orthodontics and Dento-facial orthopedics
  2. Oral and Maxillo- facial pathology
  3. Oral and Maxillo-facial surgery
  4. Operative Dentistry and Endodontics
  5. Oral medicine and Radiology
  6. Periodontics
  7. Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics.

In addition to the state of art training provided for the future dentist, it also trains dental axillaries especially dental technicians and dental hygienists. The mission of the institution is to provide superior education in dental medicine to all students and to develop and maintain outstanding clinical programs. It aims to provide an environment, resources, and opportunities for all faculty appropriate for pursuit of their scholarly interests and goals, and thus to achieve their potential as clinicians. The former Vice Chancellor of the Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, Dr B. P. Rajan, was the founder of this highly reputed dental college. Highly motivated students from Ragas dental college are known for getting admissions to top MDS programs in India as well as to top clinical programs in the United States of America including Harvard.
