Raga Kalyaan

Raaga Kalyaan the Sanskrit name, and Yaman is the Persian version of the same raga. This raaga is performed during the first quarter of the night. Kalyaan is considered to be a blessing, and for this reason, it is usually performed at the beginning of a concert. The sharp (tivra) madhyam is used in the scale. This raaga is rendered either with the tivra madhyam or with both madhyams.When both the madhyams are used then this raga is called "Yaman Kalyan"
