Talk:Rafael Peralta

A picture is needed--Brian H 22:41, 29 May 2006 (UTC) This page has been flagged for notability- The question is why is there not a wiki-bio on all of the men and women who have died defending freedom.--Brian H 22:41, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I am editing the page to break it into sections, and to include a photograph. Leobinus 01:23, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
Note to any future editors: please do not refer to Sgt. Peralta as an "immigrant." That term is not pejorative, but at the time of his death, he was a naturalized American citizen. He deserves to be remembered as such, and given his stated devotion to the United States, he would have wanted to be remembered that way. Leobinus 01:43, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
The nomination for deletion is unwarranted. Sgt. Peralta has been the subject of a great deal of e-mail traffic and editorializing. A biography in wikipedia is appropriate and is a good source of accurate information about him and the incident that resulted in his death. Since he has been nominated for the Medal of Honor, this article may be moved at sometime in the near future into the MoH list.--Brian H 00:48, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
I am glad to see that this article was restored (it was unavailable for a while.) If Wikipedia can have entries for obscure sports figures and porn stars, it can surely make room for a man who is considered for the Medal of Honor -- no matter what you think of the Iraq War, the United States, or the Marine Corps. --Leobinus 04:02, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
The Medal of Honor award is currently awaiting presidential approval, as of January 22, 2008. Leobinus (talk) 03:53, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Act of Honor
Just to let it know to those who missed it, the Act of Honor documentary by The History Channel about Sgt. Peralta will be shown again on Wednesday September 19, 2007 at 600 hrs ET. --Cefaro 15:00, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
